Yamhill Hazelnut

$10.00$80.00

Yamhill hazelnut trees are small trees (up to 10 feet) that are highly resistant to Eastern Filbert Blight. They produce large quantities of small tasty nuts. Yamhill is also an excellent pollinizer for many varieties.

Options Available for Sale

Our Yamhill hazelnut 1-year seedlings were grown from nuts and while these will not give exact reproduction of Yamhill qualities (somewhat variable in nut size and yield), they will still be of superior quality compared to other seedlings due to their genetics. Hazelnut seedling trees will bear in 3-6 years.

The 1-year tie-off propagated trees will give you the exact reproduction of Yamhill qualities, and are also much larger in size and caliper than the seedlings. Most are 3 to 4 feet long, 3/8″ to 1/2″ in caliper and have strong roots. These trees were grown by tie-off layering of suckers, and will typically begin bearing nuts in 2-3 years. Due to their length, we will cut them back to about 3 feet when shipped, which will not impact their ability to quickly grow to a healthy nut-bearing tree. If you choose local pickup they will not be trimmed.
