Spencer Creek Nursery is a small family-owned nursery southwest of Eugene, Oregon, nestled in the foothills above Spencer creek. After a lifetime of passionate gardening and planting, we found our beautiful woodland and oak savannah in 2012 where we started to put our permaculture dream into place. With the help of local permaculture consultants we created swales and berms, dug ponds and created our first native garden and food forest. In the following years, we watched as a compacted grassland transformed into a wildlife oasis.
Our love of trees led us to the inspirational book “Trees of Power” by Akiva Silver when it was first released by Chelsea Green Publishing. With the expert help of Akiva Silver and Lucile Whitman, our passion for propagation of trees and berry bushes became a reality.
Combining this passion with our long term dedication to preserving and rebuilding the natural world through regenerative, biodynamic and permaculture practices, which restore healthy living soils and ecosystems for wildlife habitat, Spencer Creek Nursery came into being. We now sell a wide range of fruit and nut trees, berry bushes and perennial plants and seeds for your food forest, homestead garden, edible landscape or habitat restoration project.
Examples of what we grow include chestnuts, walnuts, hazelnuts, pecans, hickory, oak, apple, figs, mulberry, black locust, cottonwood, elderberry, currants, gooseberries, black and raspberries, nitrogen fixers and northwest natives.
