Titania Black Currant

$10.00

This high yielding, fast growing and exceptionally sweet and large berry black currant was introduced in 1998 under patent #11439, which is now expired.

Expect Titania to reach six feet in height very quickly and reach full mature size within 3 years.

The fruits are of excellent quality, being delicious for fresh eating or for making jams, jellies and syrups. The fruits are not only large but nicely firm, and tend to ripen all at once. Let the berries fully ripen to enjoy them for fresh eating.

This cultivar is also very cold hardy and does well in full sun to partial shade. It is less specific about soil type than other currants, but does prefer soils high in organic matter with good drainage.

While Titania black currant is not immune to white pine blister rust, it may be the most resistant currant variety. It is also highly resistant to mildew.

USDA regulations prohibit shipping of Ribes species to the following states: DE, MA, ME, MI, NC, NH, NJ, OH, RI, VA, and WV.
