Theta Hazelnut
$30.00
The Theta hazelnut tree was developed by Oregon State University as an EFB resistant pollinizer. It’s a vigorous upright growing tree and a great pollinizer for producer varieties like Jefferson, Clark, Ennis and Casina. The tree sets many catkins that shed copious amounts of pollen very late in the season. Pollen-shed begins one week later than Epsilon, Zeta and Eta.
The 1-year tie-off propagated trees we sell are of good size and caliper, most are 3 to 5 feet long, 3/8″ to 1/2″ caliper and have strong roots. These trees were propagated by tie-off layering of suckers. Due to their length, we will cut them back to about 3 feet when shipped, which will not impact their ability to quickly grow to a healthy nut-bearing tree. If you choose local pickup they will not be trimmed.
