(Castanea spp., possibly sativa x crenata x pumila) Silverleaf is possibly a European-Japanese-Chinkapin hybrid. It’s a very good producer of large sweet nuts, but a smaller tree than most Euro-Japanese hybrids. Good choice for backyards with limited space. Silverleaf is blight resistant and a good pollen producer.
All grafted Silverleaf trees are grafted on 2-year old Silverleaf seedling rootstock unless otherwise noted. Scion length listed in product variations refers to scion growth above graft union. The tree itself will be ~1ft longer (~2ft including roots).
