These fast growing hardy Russian strain of English Walnut, produce large tasty nuts in a mid-weight shell. The Russian English walnut strain is cold hardy and a vigorous grower. Thriving even in clay soils so long as adequate root crown elevation is provided.
An excellent pollinator for other Juglans Regia including Cascade, Carpathian and even the native American Black Walnut Juglans Nigra.
Trees grow fast, at a rate of up to 6 feet per year, and can produce nuts in as little as 4 to 7 years.
These beautiful nut trees will provide deep shade, landscape beauty and delicious nut crops for decades to come! For best pollination and nut production plant a second walnut variety of either Juglans Regia or Juglans Nigra.
Our stock is grown from seed purchased from Burnt Ridge nursery in Washington State.
Like all walnuts, they do put juglans toxins into the soil nearby, but not as intensely as Juglans Nigra, though still care should be taken in choosing a planting site.
USDA regulations prohibit shipping of Juglans species to the following states: AR, AZ, CA, IA, IL, IN, KS, MI, MO, MS, NE, TX, and WV.
