PollyO Hazelnut
$25.00 – $30.00
The latest hazelnut variety developed by Oregon State University. An extremely vigorous excellent producer AND pollinizer that yields even more than Jefferson and Yamhill! The trees grow larger than most other hazelnut varieties which makes them an excellent choice for backyard growers looking for exceptional nut production and not concerned about tree size in an orchard.
Compatible with Jefferson, McDonald, Wepster and York varieties for pollinization. Eastern Filbert Blight-resistant.
Produces lots of nuts with excellent flavor that blanch well (they easily shed the skin or pellicle around the kernel).
The PollyO variety was named in honor of longtime industry official Polly Owen who became the director of the Hazelnut Industry Office in 1995.
