This “hazelnut tree bundle” is one of our discount specials and a great way to get started with hazelnuts. These two tie-off propagated trees can begin producing nuts in as little as 2 years!
1x Dorris Hazelnut tree, 1-year tie-off propagated
1x Gamma Hazelnut tree, 1-year tie-off propagated
Dorris is a smaller tree producing lots of very flavorful nuts. Gamma is a great pollinator variety for Dorris, and is becoming increasingly popular as a nut producer in its own right. Both varieties are Eastern Filbert Blight resistant.
Both trees are 5-6 feet long, 3/8″ caliper and have strong roots. These trees were propagated by tie-off layering of suckers. Due to their length, we will cut them back to about 3 feet when shipped, which will not impact their ability to quickly grow to a healthy nut-bearing tree. If you choose local pickup they will not be trimmed.
