Franquette English Walnut
$7.00 – $13.00
The Franquette English walnut is a very productive and hardy western US commercial nut stock, with thin shells and delicious flavor.
Franquette is one of the last to leaf out of all the English walnuts making it less susceptible to late frost damage. Also less susceptible to blight and coddling moth.
This is a large tree coming into production a little later, requiring little pruning and providing good production of tightly sealed, light colored, thin shelled nuts.
In commercial production it is used as a pollinizer for Chandler, Howard and Hartley.
The trees we sell are 1-year old seedlings from planting nuts of grafted cultivars. They are what Felix Gillet called “second generation seedlings” and are expected to produce quality nuts.
USDA regulations prohibit shipping of Juglans species to the following states: AR, AZ, CA, IA, IL, IN, KS, MI, MO, MS, NE, TX, and WV.
