These bright yellow harbingers of Spring are one of the earliest of the flowering bushes to come into bloom, often arriving while the chill of winter still hangs in the air.
Fast growing, hardy and self propagating, forsythia can easily be cultivated along a border or walkway to create an early blooming hedge. A favorite nesting and hiding place for songbirds, forsythia takes well to generous pruning, but be sure to wait until fall, after baby birds are grown and flown.
Our forsythia is grown from cuttings taken from our mother plant, which nestles at the base of a large hawthorn tree providing birds additional habitat and forage.
