Bracalla Chestnut

$10.00$30.00

(Castanea sativa) This rather famous Italian hybrid chestnut is widely grown in the western Piedmont Territories of the Occitan Valleys of Italy where vast forests of the trees produce celebrated harvests which are the center of great festivals each year.

Known as reliable, sweet and delicately flavored prolific producers, these celebrated trees grow in wind protected groves above the valleys from 650 to 3300 feet above sea level.

Their large nuts do well in cooler climates of the Pacific Northwest filling out pellicles well before a mid to late season harvest.

Does not make a good pollinator, but grows well as a good producer among other varieties for pollination.
